The Peninsula Chicago

McHugh renovated 331 guest rooms including new carpet, wallcoverings, paint and millwork as well as limited MEP work.

The hotel boasts the most technically advanced guest rooms in the US with fully customized interactive digital bedside and desk tablets that provide full control of all in-room functions. Guests can control all room lighting and climate, order room and other hotel services, view city information and attractions, weather, and TV channels. The guest corridors on floors 8 through 18 also were refurbished.

McHugh also converted the existing bar into the 1,500 sf Millennium Park meeting room. The room features a custom art piece chandelier consisting of over 160 individual pieces that was installed as the focal point next to a fireplace. The new buffet area with telescoping pocket doors is faced with custom art painted on canvas that conceals a large book matched stone wall containing four stone slabs behind a long stone buffet. High end wallpaper compliments the custom carpet. The adjoining women’s restroom was renovated to include an all new custom cut stone floor along with matching stone walls in a different pattern. New vanity with custom decorative metal accents and new fixtures were installed throughout.
