River Point Overbuild and Park

Chicago, IL. Construction Project

As part of a joint venture with Clark Construction, McHugh will be constructing the first phase of the River Point development that includes the site’s infrastructure built over five active commuter rail lines and the 55,000 sf landscaped plaza and park on top.

Crews will place 75 caissons to support the plaza structure and the tower planned for above; install over 600 feet of new river wall; and pour 7,000 cubic yards of concrete on either side of the rail lines to support 105 precast bulb T bridge beams.

Located on the bank of the Chicago River near Lake Street, River Point will also include a 55-story office tower planned for early 2014.
