Construction is starting on the new 35th Street Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge, which will span south Lake Shore Drive, providing people improved access to the lakefront. Part of the City’s Building a New Chicago program that is investing over $7 billion in infrastructure improvements throughout Chicago, the new structure will replace the existing 75-year-old bridge.

The 31st Street Harbor is one of the largest harbors built on the Chicago lakefront in last 50 years. Landside and marina portion of the project included the construction of a new marina with 1,000 new boat slips ranging from 30’ to 80’ in length; a public access boat launch ramp; a harbor facility with a boat supply store; Harbor Master’s office with a large conference/community room; a boater’s shower room with laundry facilities; and a large parking garage with 213 spaces that will also provide covered boat storage during the off season.

The Advocate Center is a new 60,000 sf training facility for the Chicago Bulls basketball team, and is situated just east of the United Center where the Bulls play. The facility features two full-size basketball courts, expansive locker room will a therapeutic hydro-room, coaches’ offices, weight room, media room, and players’ lounge on the first level. The second floor contains Bulls’ executive offices, a cardio room, and a green roof with patio area.

The 7-story, 39,000 sf meetinghouse can seat 250 people in the main chapel. Additional features include meeting rooms, administrative offices, an outdoor terrace, and four levels of structured parking. The understated exterior is clad in brick and stone cast to look like limestone. The 55-foot modern spire was constructed Utah and weighs over 10,000 pounds.
